stephene and josh are such a fantastic couple, and we had a wonderful time up at griffith observatory shooting their engagement session. we stayed till the moon came up to take some night shots and had a chance to look through the telescope at jupiter, which was very exciting. stephene and josh are getting married in lake arrowhead this october and we cannot wait. their venue is right on the lake and it’s going to be just beautiful.

evelyn and joe are a wonderful, sweet couple. we met up with them in laguna beach for their engagement session and it was packed! there were people everywhere. we managed to find some back alleys and corners which worked perfectly. evelyn and joe were great sports and even though i am sure they had no idea what we were up to most of the time, they went along with it! we cannot wait for their wedding coming up in october at tivoli too!

kimberly and jay are amazing, and sweet, and love radiates out of them. the first time we met them was at their “day-after” session, which actually took place on their wedding day, before the wedding! we wanted to beat the vegas heat so we hit up our hot spots bright and early. it was as if we were seeing old friends again and the start to the day, while still hot as anything was a blast. we began at the famous neon boneyard followed by a trip to the “welcome to vegas” sign and then the roof of the paris hotel parking lot which allowed us to get some great views of the ever growing skyline of las vegas in the background. this session was followed by their amazing wedding…which will be up soon, so stayed tuned for part two :).

hera and colin had an incredible armenian ceremony surrounded by stunning white marble and gold accents. the vivid wedding included so many traditional aspects, where each of the acts performed during the service has a special meaning and significance. the ending of the ceremony includes the bride and groom being crowned, which represent glory and honor and they are now the king and queen of their own little kingdom! once we left the church we made a stop along the way for some fun portraits, and all got totally soaked by the fountain. their reception was so much fun, what a party. everyone joined in and danced the night away. colin gave one of the most touching speeches we have ever heard. everyone was in tears, including me! hera and colin had adorable mini cupcakes, a candy buffet and of course the most amazing middle eastern food…mmmm! we can’t wait to celebrate with them again at hera’s sister helen’s wedding coming up in just a few days :).

ceremony: st. garabed armenian apostolic church
reception: brandview collection
cupcakes: leda’s bake shop
videographer: cinematic wedding day

kendall and jacob envisioned a wedding surrounded by the people they loved. they made their wedding their own with personalized touches; beautiful individual vows, a jointly-written letter to all the guests about how they had met, a ceremony they designed themselves and an incorporation of kendall’s favorite colors; eggplant purple for the bridesmaid dresses, violets and shades of lavender for the flowers with a punch of raspberry. right after the ceremony we made a special trip to the stunning gardens that surrounded kendall’s parents home for some special bride/groom photos and of course a few featuring their ever so cute dog luna!

location: spanish hills country club
flowers: k-bella designs
cake: the bread basket

eric spent many hours contemplating a new design for our seemingly generic splash page. his brilliant mind came up with something amazing. he found a way to incorporate our love of photos and our flowery logo into something hip, funky and ultimately us. take a visit to our homepage eight20 photography and let us know what you think! enjoy :) .

one of my best friends in the whole world turned 26 a few weeks ago and we treated him to a surprise make-over and photo session. ashkan and i have been friends for 18 years. we met on the handball court of our elementary school, ash in his huge green jacket that he wore even when it was 100 degrees outside and me with my frizzy, curly hair. we weren’t exactly the coolest kids in school, but to each other we were the coolest! well fast forward to today, ash has some awesome style and my hair is no longer frizzy, through good times and bad times we have stuck by each other and of course we are still the coolest! i love you ashdoggie, thank you for being the best friend ever :).

a few weeks ago i had the pleasure of shooting with my good friend meghan of meghan aileen photography. we have been so lucky to meet such wonderful people in the wedding photography industry, who we feel secure sending clients to when we are booked; and of course if anything should happen to me or eric which would prevent either of us from shooting, we have some awesome back-ups! meghan and i started our day super early, 6:30am early! it turned out to be a beautiful wedding, an adorable couple, and i am so glad i was able to help out.

boudoir is a wonderful and surprising gift you can give to your significant other. it can be scary, and overwhelming but you will always have these photos to look back on and go, “damn, i am hot :) .” if it takes all day to get the perfect shots, then that is fine with us. if you have any questions about boudoir or would like to schedule a session, send us an email and we will give you all the information you need. we will never post boudoir images without the permission of our clients, but here is a small teaser of some of stephanie’s pics, with her permission of course, shot at el matador state beach in malibu. i met up with stephanie early in the morning, to avoid any crowds. when we arrived, we were the only ones on the beach! we quickly took advantage of having no one around, and got some really sexy photos, which will not be posted here ;) . boudoir is usually done in a bedroom setting, but i thought the beach was an awesome idea and stephanie being the perfect california girl really worked it!
